Whether your product is a technology product or not, every company is a tech company. Today's workforce communicates using technology and is more efficient than it has ever been because of technology. Face it, if your customers are going to buy, the entire process, from marketing to sale, will be facilitated by technology, especially web-based technology. You need to know the following:
How to vet a technical candidate
How to write technical requirements
How to upload your own content (blog post etc.) online
How to market your product using the languages of HTML and CSS
How to manage updates to your website without suffering high costs and delays
How to effectively evaluate technical progress on outsourced labor
Join TechTown and Savvy Coders for this amazing event.
Every business, no matter the size, has data to protect. It's not really a matter of if, but when you will experience cyber and data privacy threats. In this interactive session, we'll provide tips on how to proactively protect your data related to employees, customers, vendors, operations, and intellectual property. From creating password strategies to setting up incident response plans, we'll discuss best practices that can potentially save you a ton of stress, cash, and even your reputation. Lunch is on us!

Modern additive manufacturing systems based on powder bed technology integrate several well-established solids processing unit operations. Examples of relevant solids processing steps include mixing, fluidization, powder dosing, powder transport and storage, roller spreading, sintering and powder classification. Powder based systems can be viewed essentially as a miniaturized solids processing plant in a box. Though additive systems present their own unique set of challenges, established design principles are often overlooked. Solids processing plants often have poor efficiencies, long start-up times, and large sensitivities to feedstock material property variations, and powder bed fusion printers have not proven to be an exception.
This E&G Associates' presentation will focus on one of the essential foundations of solids processing, namely solids handling and storage. In particular, the problem of bin design will be presented as an introduction to the language and methodologies of solids processing and powder mechanics. Using well-established design principles, attendees will be shown that it is possible to design a storage system to prevent powder arching, ratholing, and segregation. Traditional characterization methods will be emphasized, including material property measurements of powder cohesion, powder/wall friction, and permeability, as well as related particle scale characterization of particle size, shape, and surface energy and hardness. Extensions as well as limitations of powder mechanics to related areas will be highlighted, namely roller spreading, fluidized and partially aerated flows. Lastly, the presentation will also touch upon some additional unit operations such as solids mixing and powder wetting.

We live in a complex, fast moving, political environment. As policies and laws change, we need to understand how they affect our shared global resource, the Internet. It's important that we understand how our choices and actions will affect the future health of the Internet -- to ensure that it remains an open platform that encourages innovation and gives us control over our data and our private lives.
This Internet Health Roundtable will be a discussion among entrepreneurs, policymakers, community leaders, and everyday internet enthusiasts. We'll discuss issues including access to the open internet (including the gigabit high-speed internet), digital privacy and cybersecurity, innovation and competition, internet access and diversity online, and data collection, governance, and use, and how these issues affect businesses and communities in Chattanooga and beyond. Please join us for lunch and a lively discussion! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/internet-health-roundtable-tickets-37708548283
